I am a small business owner located in Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington D.C. I first got started in woodworking when a large black walnut tree fell on one of my job sites, crushing over $10,000 worth of materials. The property owner was going to hire a mulching company to take care of the tree and use it as sawdust. Once I saw the inside of the tree, I knew that I had to find a way to make it more than just dust. So, I told the owner that I would take it off his hands free of charge and store it somehow in my townhouse patio (you can imagine how thrilled my wife was). After hiring a mobile sawmill and making many trips back and forth to carry these heavy log slabs to my townhouse, the journey began of what to do with all this wood. Combining the plethora of new wood with my passion for creative design, I started my woodworking business out of my townhouse garage. Since that day, I have been making custom pieces that are truly one of a kind. And yes, I still have more black walnut if you want a part of what started my woodworking career.
